Ranking

Anichess utilizes the Glicko2-based Ranking system, a widely recognized method for accurately assessing player skill levels. In Alpha, there is only one Ranking rating for all game modes, allowing for skill tracking across formats.

Before participating in ranked matches, you must first play 5 Quick Matches to familiarize yourself with the game and establish your initial skill level. Once qualified, you will be matched according to your Ranking, ensuring competitive balance based on player availability. As you progress, your ranking will fall into one of the following tiers, visible to all players:

  • Legend (2000+)

  • King (1900-1999)

  • Queen (1700-1899)

  • Rook (1500-1699)

  • Bishop (1300-1499)

  • Knight (1100-1299)

  • Pawn (0-1099)
